Testimonials

“I had the pleasure of working with Dionne at the China Olympic Committee for a year while we were both assigned to the Table Tennis Team. We exchanged information on our past experiences when treating some of the leading athletes. Dionne is a great co-worker and always keen and happy to share her knowledge on special techniques. Specifically, her extensive knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics is impressive. She is able to use this knowledge to immaculately assess clients and treat them accordingly. Dionne uses a variety of physiotherapy techniques ranging from basic soft tissue release, mobilizations, or analytic techniques to complex skills as Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and other neurophysiological concepts. I highly recommend Dionne as a Physiotherapist.”

— Jakub Radina MSc., Sports Medicine Physiotherapist

“Dionne is one of the very few people I truly trust to put my body back together. As a physical therapist, she is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but she is deeply passionate about helping people. With her arsenal of techniques and insight (seriously, just ask her to tape you for literally anything and watch magic come to life on the spot), I know I could go to her with any questions I had and she would undoubtedly have an answer, a suggestion, a solution, you name it…even if I wasn’t able to see her in person right away. In addition to her professional savvy, Dionne is just an overall great person. Her energy is approachable and friendly, she brings with her a comfortable atmosphere, and you will walk out feeling like she just salvaged whatever was left of your body. I can’t recommend her enough.”

— Sasha H., Former Professional Broadway Dancer

“As a dancer and Broadway actor with fifteen years of experience and injuries, I CANNOT speak highly enough about Dr. Dionne Vernon! I have had the deep pleasure of working with Dr. Dionne (as I affectionately call her) for eight years. Using her knowledge of the body and brain, along with an empathic yet direct approach, she dives in — not only treating her clients but teaching them how to care for themselves. I have learned exponentially more about my body from Dr. Dionne than I have with any other physical therapist. If you ever have the pleasure to have a consultation and treatment with Dr. Dionne, you will immediately know that you are in extraordinary care.

— Syndee Winters, Broadway Actor and Founder of ROAR School

“Dionne is a phenomenal physical therapist and wonderful person. No matter what injury I experience, I know that her competence and skill will see me through to recovery. She excels, not only because of her vast knowledge and experience, but also due to her ability to really listen to her clients and create a safe space to hear and understand his or her experience. Dionne is incredibly generous with her time and attention in sessions, and I always leave feeling restored physically, as well as mentally.”

— Molly Rushing, Professional Broadway Dancer and Fitness Instructor

“I was lucky enough to have Dionne as my physical therapist for a year and a half before the Olympics (!) stole her away. I’ve dealt with chronic pain for years, and Dionne was the first person to get to the core of the issues and start me on a path toward recovery. I am forever grateful for her encouragement, guidance, good humor, support (physical and emotional), and most of all, patience. I speak of her goodness as a human being and accompanying PT skills any chance I get. I cannot recommend Dionne enough. She is a genius rockstar unicorn.”

— Becca Schneider, Actor/Producer

“Trust me, Dr. Dionne is the best…period. Okay, I’ll explain. It starts with the assessment. You walk through her door thinking you have a problem with your big toe, and after her very thorough assessment, she will fix your hip flexor, quads, shins, ankle, and yes…your big toe. She finds and treats the source of your pain, instead of just where the pain is showing itself. The body is an amazing thing. Dr. Dionne is very easy to talk to and is forever studying and finding new techniques to solving issues. I happened to be a patient when she was our in-house PT on Disney’s The Lion King North American tour, where I saw her quickly tend to dancers in between scenes and getting them back on stage fast (because the show must go on), so she can think on her feet. But I’d say one of the best things about being Dr. Dionne’s patient is that after seeing her, you are not only pain-free, but you feel empowered as she goes through your recovery journey with you. She teaches you how to properly physically prepare for whatever activity and discusses ways to prevent injury and what to do should you get hurt. She puts you at the centre of your own healing; always checking in with you and making sure you understand what and why she is doing what she’s doing. She is not only an excellent physical therapist, but also an all-around good human being. Thanks for everything Dr. Dionne!”

— Buyi Zama, The Lion King Broadway Actress

“Dr. Dionne Vernon is magical! Yes, you read that correctly. Dealing with professional performers and their different personalities is hard enough, but dealing with those personalities while they are injured takes a very special individual. Dr. Dionne is that special individual. Not only can she work on your injury, coach you on how to get better and maintain your health, but discuss the world with you while she works, which takes your mind off the pain. It’s magical. She cares for her patients and their well-being physically, but also tries to ease their minds with laughter and heart. Once you’ve worked with Dionne, she is the one you always want to see. That is not just skillful, it’s as I said, “magical”.

— James Monroe Iglehart, Tony Award-Winning Broadway Actor

“As a dancer at Juilliard and a Broadway performer, I have worked with more than a dozen physical therapists, and without question Dionne has been the most effective and helpful. I worked with Dionne for over a year while performing eight shows a week in CATS on Broadway. Without her weekly sessions and help through several injuries, I would not have been able to do my job. She has extensive knowledge and is continually learning and finding solutions for her clients. She is physically very strong and able to dig in to muscles to be exceptionally effective. She is kind, caring, and made me look forward to our time together each week. I trust her implicitly with the care of my body which is vital to my livelihood.”

— Emily Tate, Broadway Dancer

“Dionne is hands down the best physical therapist I've ever had, and I’ve had many (almost a dozen). Having struggled with pain and imbalance in my body for nearly my entire life, I started seeing PTs in my early thirties only to discover that my body was a labyrinth of stuck fascia and dysfunctional musculoskeletal patterns. Every PT I saw told me I was a "difficult case," and none of them could make sense of, let alone fix, the systemic issues across my body. Enter Dionne. In every way possible, Dionne raised the bar. She quickly saw the bigger picture and methodically helped me repattern how I use my body. Many PTs have watched me walk and pointed out things that were suboptimal; Dionne was the only one to literally teach me how to walk differently, how to hold my body differently, how to reactivate muscle groups I had entirely stopped using. Dionne's skill with manual therapy is also unparalleled; it felt like she was playing 3D chess with my body, and after each session I would experience major shifts with both pain relief and range of motion. Though perhaps what impressed me most was Dionne's understanding of the psychology of behavior change. From the way she talked about my sleeping patterns to the way she designed an exercise program tailored to my personality, Dionne had an ability to motivate me to make the lifestyle changes necessary for me to sustain my healing. I enthusiastically recommend Dionne to anybody struggling with pain, injury, or who just wants to optimize their physical performance. It is no wonder to me that she has worked with Broadway dancers and Olympic athletes; she is truly the best of the best.”
